Friday, Dec 6, 2019   8:00 PM
Adrienne Arsht Center (Knight Concert Hall) -- Miami, Florida Featuring multi-GRAMMY® Award Winners Mavis Staples with opening act Charlie Musselwhite

“[Mavis Staples is] blessed with a soul-stirring voice that deserves classification as a national treasure.”
- Billboard
“Harmonica virtuoso Charlie Musselwhite raises the level of emotional expression on his instrument beyond even the masters he learned from…"
- San Francisco Chronicle
Ain't No Stoppin' the Blues promises an incredible night of jazz with two of America’s blues legends together on one stage! Multi-GRAMMY® Award winners Mavis Staples with Charlie Musselwhite join forces in a special performance that seamlessly blends American jazz with rhythm and blues.

Not many musicians can exist outside of a scene and genre, yet weave themselves into the fabric of soul, R&B, jazz, gospel, rock and blues the way Staples has for over six decades. In 2011 Staples won her first GRAMMY® Award in the category of Best Americana Album for You Are Not Alone. In addition to her many awards, in 2017 she was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame and she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Arts Awards in 2018.

With an induction into the Blues Music Hall of Fame, thirty-five Blues Music Awards (including three wins in 2014), and eleven GRAMMY® nominations, American electric blues harmonica virtuoso and bandleader Musselwhite has truly earned legendary status as one of blues music’s most important artists. He has released over 25 albums, as well as appearing on albums by many other notable musicians including Bonnie Raitt, INXS, Tom Waits and The Blind Boys of Alabama, among others. Musselwhite recently teamed up with Ben Harper on "Get Up!" -- the long-time coming collaboration that took home the GRAMMY® for Best Blues Album in 2014.
